Guide / Questions

What to ask in AI Interrogation

You start each case with ten questions. In one recording a player on his last question is offered a paid “plus five” top-up and keeps going afterwards, so ten is the budget to aim to win inside rather than an absolute stop — and what decides it is the shape of your questions.

Questions that move the bar

Walk me through your evening, start to finish.

Costs one question and buys you a whole statement to contradict later. Always open here.

You said you left at nine thirty. The camera has you there at nine forty-five.

Evidence against their own words. This is the shape that moves the bar — not the evidence alone, not the accusation alone.

A minute ago you said you were never there. Now you were there earlier that day. Which is it?

Quoting the revision back. In recorded runs this is the move that immediately precedes a confession.

Who benefits if he is gone?

Closing question. Once the timeline is broken, motive is what tips them over — every recorded confession ends with one.

Questions that waste a turn

Did you do it?

Gets a denial. Denials are free for the suspect.

Tell me about the catering company.

This is the suspect's own deflection. Following it lets them spend your questions for you.

You are lying and everyone knows it.

Pure aggression with nothing attached. The game states that pushing too hard makes a suspect shut down.

One rule to remember

Never ask a question whose best possible answer is “no”. If the suspect can end your question with a flat denial and lose nothing, rewrite it so that any answer costs them something — either it confirms a detail you can use, or it contradicts one they already gave.
