What to ask on Case 5
Leo starts from the strongest position of any suspect in the game: a hobby that explains the physical evidence, and a roommate who can vouch for him. Four of his answers are unbeatable and two are not, so the whole case is about which ones you spend questions on.
Four answers to leave completely alone
Each one is true enough to survive any amount of pressure. Push on them and you get the same sentence back with extra detail — which costs you a question and tells you nothing.
The petrol is for his dirt bike and his generator
Buying fuel in bulk for a bike and a generator is an ordinary thing to do. He can defend this all day, and in every run where a player argues about it, he simply repeats the explanation with more detail.
He was gaming all night, single-player
He volunteers that it was single-player before you can ask — so there is nothing online to check. Attacking the alibi head-on gets you the same sentence back.
His roommate can back him up
The moment the roommate stops backing him up, he drops the roommate instead of the story: they have separate lives, the roommate was asleep, the roommate would not know either way.
The warehouse camera was broken anyway
He says this before you show him anything. Arguing about whether the camera worked is arguing about equipment, not about him.
The two things that do move him
The roommate, as a person
His alibi depends on someone else. The moment that someone stops cooperating, Leo has to attack his own witness — and he does it immediately and at length.
The CCTV
Everything else he can file under “I work on bikes”. Footage of him is the one item with no category to go in, and it is where his story starts revising itself.
The ten questions

Let him give you the whole night unprompted
He will hand you three things at once: he was home, he was gaming, and the games were single-player. That is a tightly closed alibi and it is exactly what you want on the record — every later revision has to be measured against it.

Put the petrol somewhere, do not argue about why he has it
The question that works is not "why do you have so much fuel" but "where is it now". He answers that his roommate asked him to move it and that it is parked at the roommate's cousin's garage. He has just moved physical evidence off his own property, in his own words.

The boots
Petrol on his boots is the first thing he cannot explain by category. He tries — old boots, spilled fuel, works on the bike weekly — but notice that this is now the second time the bike has had to cover for something. Keep both uses in view.

Bring in the roommate as a person, not a witness
Not "your roommate says otherwise" but what the roommate actually did that night. When his alibi's own witness stops helping, he turns on him: he was asleep, he was lying, they are not close, he slept through the fire. A man defending a true story does not need to demolish his only witness.

Show the footage
This is the whole case. Not because it proves anything on its own — he will tell you the picture is unclear — but because it is the one thing he cannot fold into a category.

Read his last answer back, three times
You do not need a new argument here, and reaching for one is the mistake. Each time he revises, quote the revision back. Across the runs on record he walks it from never went there, to might have gone earlier that day, to went there but never went inside — not always in that order, but always giving ground rather than holding one line. The confession comes after he has revised a few times, not after any particular sentence.
Why this case is the wall
Only 2.3% of the players who clear Case 1 ever finish this one. It is not that Leo is cleverer than Victor — it is that you arrive with less patience for spending three questions on the same answer, and this case requires exactly that.
