The case
An executive is poisoned. Pest-control poison comes up during questioning.

- "I did not give him his coffee. The catering company handled all beverages for the board meeting today."
- "I delivered the folder, not the coffee."
- "I was preparing quarterly reports in my office down the hall."
- Admits entering the executive's office "to pick up some documents", then leaving immediately.
- Floats a disgruntled former employee as the one who planted the poison.
Where the story breaks
He denies handling the coffee while placing himself inside the office. In the run we watched he also lets slip a motive — that the victim "was going to take everything from me" — without ever giving a full confession.
How to run this interrogation
Case 4 is where the game changes. Victor does not lie the way the earlier suspects do — he tells you true things that happen to be useless. He was in the building. He entered the office. He did not hand over the coffee. All of that can be simultaneously true and still leave him the poisoner.
He also runs the best deflection in the game: he keeps giving you a better suspect. The catering company handled the drinks. A disgruntled former employee could have planted it. Each of those is an invitation to spend a question investigating someone who is not in the room. Decline them. The only pair worth pressing is that he insists he never touched the coffee while placing himself inside the office — so ask what the errand was, in detail, and keep asking.
Why this case stops people
This is the wall. Under 8% of Case 1 finishers ever clear it — fewer than one in twelve. The drop from Case 3 is the steepest in the game, and it happens exactly where suspects stop contradicting themselves outright.
